President - Jeff Hoffman

Jeff Hoffman has worked for The Walt Disney Company since 1978. He currently is Vice President of DisneyHand and is based at The Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California. Disney Worldwide Outreach is the umbrella organization over the Company’s philanthropic, DisneyHand and community outreach programs. He also administers the Disney Legends Award program, is responsible for all employee-driven community programs including corporate oversight of Disney VoluntEARS globally, and is a member of the Corporate Synergy Committee.

Jeff started his Disney career at Disneyland Park while in college. He worked in Theme Park Operations in Adventureland and Frontierland Merchandise. For sixteen years he was a senior member of The Disney University team, a part of the Company's Corporate Administration area that is charged with the employee training and development, communications, services and social-cultural responsibilities.

A fourth generation resident of Long Beach, California, Jeff received his Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations from the University of Southern California. He holds a Professional Designation in the Management of Motion Picture Production and Marketing from the University of California, Los Angeles; and a Masters in Business Administration from Pepperdine University. He is Accredited in Public Relations by the Public Relations Society of America.

A long time political and community activist, Jeff has been and continues to be involved with many organizations. He currently serves on the board of the Entertainment Industry Foundation, where he is the Chairman of Campaigns; Co-Chair of the Steering Committee of Business Strengthening America and on the board of the Volunteer Centers of California. He is a past board member of the Points of Light Foundation where he is a past chair of the National Council on Workplace Volunteerism. He was a founding board member of the California Tourism Corporation, appointed to this position by then Governor George Deukmejian. In addition, he is a past Chairman of the Public Relations Committee of the Burbank Chamber of Commerce.


Vice-President - Wes Winter Wes Winter is the Executive Director of the Volunteer Center of Sonoma County.

Secretary - Robin Kelley Robin Kelley was appointed Executive Director of the Volunteer Center of the Inland Empire, Inc. in May 1999. The Volunteer Center is a private, nonprofit service organization established in 1990 to provide a centralized source for volunteer resources to San Bernardino County residents. It currently includes six programs, 2 networks, and a paid staff of 7.

Robin’s business experience includes 13 years in the nonprofit sector. She is responsible for the development of new programs and funding opportunities, and serves as the liaison between the Board of Directors and staff. As Executive Director, her responsibilities also include the fiscal management, fundraising and operational oversight of the agency.

Robin has lived in San Bernardino County since 1996. She has been married for 25 years and she and her husband have 2 children. She is currently Vice President of the San Bernardino Rotary Club and was named Rookie of the Year in 2000 and Rotarian of the Year in 2002.


Treasurer - Carol Stone For the past 21 years, Carol Stone has served as the president and CEO of the Volunteer Center Orange County located in Santa Ana, California. Due to her strong leadership, the Volunteer Center has grown from a small grassroots organization into a major, countywide organization that provides volunteers, management assistance, and training to more than 2,000 nonprofit agencies in the 36 cities of Orange County. Mrs. Stone serves as a consultant and trainer to nonprofit organizations, and the academic community. She teaches a variety of subjects related to the effective management of nonprofits and capacity building. She has been past chairman of the National Council of Volunteer Centers representing approximately 500 Volunteer Centers nationwide, and in that capacity, served on the Points of Light Foundation Board of Directors. Mrs. Stone also serves on the board of Orange County Head Start and recently finished her term as Chairman of the Board. Currently, she serves as a board member and treasurer of the California State Board of Volunteer Centers, board member of the Workforce Investment Board, the Forum for Corporate Directors, and the Governor’s Commission on Service and Volunteerism (GOSERV) Statewide Network Leadership Team.

Mrs. Stone’s past experience spans 30 years of consulting and training to audiences throughout the United States, Russia, Romania and Japan. In addition, she served as a national consultant and trainer for Camp Fire Boys and Girls, Inc.; teacher and master trainer of teachers for a variety of school districts; and adjunct faculty member at California State University Long Beach, California State University Fullerton, and University of California Irvine. Mrs. Stone taught university-level courses including program evaluation, critical issues in volunteer and board management, strategic planning, and nonprofit resource management. She created and served as dean of three university-level educational certificate programs for nonprofit personnel. She has been the recipient of numerous awards for her work, including the Orange County Bar Foundation Liberty Bell Award and the National Association of Women Business Owner’s Remarkable Women Award.

Mrs. Stone holds a bachelor of arts’ degree from University of California Los Angeles and a master’s degree in nonprofit administration from the University of San Francisco. Her directed research focused on the identity of volunteer center anchors among long-term volunteers. She is married and enjoys her four children and eight grandchildren. When not engaged in her professional life, she enjoys traveling, reading, and shopping.


Executive Director - Brian Bolton

Brian Bolton is the Executive Director of the Volunteer Centers of California.


Member - Fred Main

Fred Main has significant experience in public policy, and legislative and regulatory advocacy. Prior to joining Manatt, Fred was the Senior Vice President and General Counsel at the California Chamber of Commerce, a trade association with 13,000 members representing businesses of all sizes throughout California. He was in charge of the Chamber’s public policy program, including advocacy before the Legislature, courts, regulatory boards and on initiatives. As the Chamber’s chief legal officer he oversaw the Chamber’s Legal Services Division, which fought to protect business interests before the courts on issues of broad concern, such as torts, taxes, commercial free speech and regulation.

Fred joined the Chamber in 1981 as a tax specialist and was named general counsel in 1988. He has held positions as Tax Counsel, Manager of Regulatory and Consumer affairs, and Chief Legislative Advocate. He regularly testifies before committees of the California legislature and has been a speaker before a number of chambers, civic groups, and professional organizations.

Fred received a B.A. in political science from California State University, Fullerton, and a J.D. from the McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific.


Member - Nancy Lurwig Nancy Lurwig is the manager of Community Relations at The Boeing Company, Integrated Defense Systems, Seal Beach. She is responsible for the management of community relations activities, including corporate contributions, volunteer programs, and community outreach. In this position Nancy oversees and provides guidance for cash, in-kind and surplus contributions for the State of California, serves as the chair for the California Community Relations Council, serves as the chair for the employee giving program, and develops contributions strategies for the Seal Beach and Los Angeles communities. Formerly with Rockwell, Nancy and her husband, David, live in Orange.

Member - Ted Olsson, Ph.D. Ted Olsson is the Manager of Corporate Communtiy Relations for the Western Region of IBM.

Member - John Power John Power is the Executive Director of the Volunteer Center of San Francisco.

Member - Pattie Tellez Pattie Tellez is the Executive Director of the Volunteer Center of Monrovia and is the Southern Section Chair for the Volunteer Centers of California.

Member - Donna Ueland Donna Ueland is the Executive Director of the Volunteer Center of Fresno County, Inc.

Member - Karen Delaney Karen Delaney is the Executive Director of the Volunteer Center of Santa Cruz.

Member - Wanda Vevia Wanda Vevia is the Executive Director of the Volunteer San Diego.

Member - Kim Denger

Kim Denger is the Director of Corporate Affairs for Option One Mortgage in Irvine, CA.
